Hong Hao: My Things

Hong Hao est un artiste chinois basé à Pékin, diplômé de l’Académie Centrale des Beaux-Arts de Pékin, département gravure.

"My Things" est une série de travaux photographiques composés de milliers d'images d'objets divers collectés par Hong Hao, scannés puis arrangés par ordinateur pour former des patchworks retraçant parfois vingt ans d'accumulation...



Hong Hao is a Beijing based artist who graduated from the Printmaking Department at The Central Academy of Fine Arts of Beijing, China.

"My Things" is one of Hong Hao's best known photographic series. The photographs are composed of thousands of scanned images of objects from his own life and arranged by computer, some representing over 20 years of accumulation.

Charlie Mars Videomaker from Outerspace

Charlie Mars, alias Martin Pageot ou "l’homme à la cagoule", est un talentueux jeune vidéaste autodidacte français de Nantes.

Le "Videomaker from Outerspace" réalise surtout des vidéos très courtes en pixilation (vidéos tournées image par image).

Récemment, Charlie Mars a réalisé un clip dans lequel il s'est filmé pendant 500 jours (70 heures de rushes pour 4 minutes de film); Il a également réalisé un clip pour le groupe italien Lamette...

IAC Building World’s Largest High Resolution Video Wall

Le nouveau building de l'IAC (InterActiveCorps) situé dans le quartier de Chelsea à New York City, a installé dans son hall d'accueil deux murs video, dont celui du West Side qui mesure 36 mètres par 3, ce qui fait de lui le plus grand écran haute résolution du monde.

Conçu initialement comme élément de communication de la compagnie IAC, cet écran géant attire aussi de nombreux chercheurs et artistes.

C'est le cas de Daniel Shiffman, professeur,chercheur et artiste qui enseigne dans le programme des télecommunications interactives à la Tisch School of the Arts de New York University (NYU).

The new IAC World Headquarters Building, designed by architect Frank Gehry , is located in the vibrant Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.

The public lobby of IAC global headquarters is home to two of the world’s most unique projection video screens. The larger of the two, on the West side of the lobby, is the World’s Largest High Resolution Video Wall ( 120 feet wide and 11 feet high).

Daniel Shiffman, researcher, teacher, and sometimes artist at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts went to test his class projects on the IAC video wall.

Lyon Lights Festival - Fete des Lumieres Lyon

Lyon va accueillir quatre millions de personnes pour célebrer la Fête des Lumières du 6 au 9 décembre 2007, le 8 décembre étant toujours le point culminant de la Fête.

La Fête des Lumières de Lyon connaît aujourd'hui une renommée internationale dans le secteur de l'éclairage. De nombreux artistes et concepteurs (éclairagistes, architectes, designers, scenographes...) s'activent chaque année pour mettre en place de superbes installations, aussi bien spectaculaires qu'intimistes.

Pendant 4 nuits, plus de 70 rendez-vous lumineux sont proposés dans toute la ville : façades, places, jardins et autres espaces publics se transforment sous la lumière et offrent des spectacles uniques.





One of the world’s best festivals of light takes place each year in Lyon, France.

The tradition began in 1852, when locals spontaneously displayed thousands of candles to mark a religious celebration.

More recently the event has taken on a modern approach, enlisting the talents of designers, artists and craftsmen to create innovative spectacles with an urban edge.

Vintage Cigarette Ads - Publicites Cigarette Vintage

L’école de médecine de l’université de Stanford propose une très belle exposition de publicités pour les cigarettes.

Ces images montrent la campagne de manipulation de l'industrie du tabac pour masquer les effets nocifs de la cigarette, et mettent l'accent tout particulièrement sur l'utilisation de l'image du médecin afin de rassurer le public.

Les publicités sont classées par thème et par marque de cigarette.




Stanford University School of Medicine is hosting "Not a Cough in a Carload: Images from the Tobacco Industry’s Campaign to Hide the Hazards of Smoking".

The historic cigarette advertising exhibition is curated by Laurie Jackler and Robert Jackler and Robert Proctor, two Stanford University experts on the tobacco industry’s marketing of their disease-causing products.

The exhibit shows how, between the late 1920s and the early 1950s, tobacco companies used images of physician to sell cigarettes.

"An American Index of The Hidden and Unfamiliar" est le titre d'une nouvelle série de travaux de Taryn Simon exposée pour la première fois au MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst de Francfort.

Basée à New-York, Taryn Simon a photographié des endroits des Etats-Unis habituellement cachés du grand public.

Rendre visibles d'obscurs endroits est lié à la tâche de véhiculer la connaissance.
Par conséquent, chaque image est accompagnée d'un texte de Taryn Simon expliquant précisément ce qui est vu et pourquoi cela est caché.





"An American Index of The Hidden and Unfamiliar" is the title of a new series of works by Taryn Simon, which is being exhibited in full for the first time at the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst.

Taryn Simon gives a visible and clear form to places that are otherwise taboo or removed from our gazes.

Making the hidden visible is linked to the task of conveying knowledge. Consequently, eachimage is accompanied by a text by the artist that precisely explains what is seen and the reasons it is hidden.
