Paris Concept Cars Exhibition - Exposition Concept Cars Paris Invalides

La 23ème édition du Festival Automobile International a lieu du 7 au 10 Février 2008 à l'Hôtel National des Invalides à Paris.

Le Festival Automobile International organise une exposition publique de Concept Cars en première mondiale.

La mise en scène de l'exposition et de la présentation des modèles est conçue avec le concours de l’architecte Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

L'objectif est de rendre pérenne et institutionnelle l’exposition des concept cars en créant aux Invalides à Paris un rendez-vous incontournable du design automobile mondial.

The 23rd International Automobile Festival is hosting a Concept Cars exhibition at the unique and prestigious Hôtel des Invalides in Paris opening February 7th.

The exhibition setting and the presentation of the models will be designed in association with Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

The objective is to set up a long-lasting and official exhibition for concept cars by establishing, at Les Invalides in Paris, the ultimate meeting place for world automotive design.

Bug Labs: The Lego of Gadgets

Bug Labs, une jeune start-up new-yorkaise, vient de dévoiler un astucieux concept de modules électroniques capables de s'imbriquer sur une base, comme des briques de Lego, afin de créer son propre gadget, évolutif et en open source: le Bug.

Selon vos besoins, vous pouvez emboîter un des quatre modules disponibles actuellement (appareil photo, écran tactile, GPS et un détecteur de mouvements) sur la station principale, appelée BugBase.

Un clavier et des écouteurs seront disponibles au deuxième trimestre 2008.

Bug Labs a reçu pour le Bug le prix CNET du Meilleur produit (catégorie "technologie émergente") présenté au CES 2008 de Las Vegas.





Bug Labs, a New York-based startup has just unveiled a new product called BUG.

"BUG is a collection of easy-to-use electronic modules that snap together to build any gadget you can imagine".

Described as "the Lego of gadgets" by Webware's Rafe Needleman, the Bug Labs' Linux and Java-based platform starts with a highly configurable minicomputer, the Bug Base, onto which you can snap (a bit like Lego Mindstorms)multiple modules such as a camera, a motion detector, a LCD screen, a GPS.

A keyboard and audio speakers will be available in the second quarter of 2008.

CNET just awarded Bug Labs with its "Best Of CES" award in the Emerging Technology category.

Christopher Conte Cyberpunk BioMechanical Sculptures

"Steam Powered Insect"





Après avoir obtenu un diplôme des Beaux Arts au Pratt Institute à Brooklyn, New York, Christopher Conte étudia l'anatomie humaine et la prothétique (Technique de l'évaluation, de la fabrication, de la pose et de la réparation des prothèses) au Columbia Presbyterian Hospital de New York où il fabriqua des prothèses de membres pour des amputés.

Sa passion pour la sculpture, conjuguée à la science médicale et à la biomécanique, a amené Christopher Conte à créer des pièces uniques: une araignée en fibre de carbone, un insecte à vapeur, des crânes biomécaniques en bronze, un bras articulé en acier inoxydable, une mouche microbotique à énergie solaire, etc...

After earning a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art (BFA) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and after having studied human anatomy at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, Christopher Conte entered the prosthetics field and began making artificial limbs for amputees in New York.

Combining an abiding love for sculpture, medical science and biomechanics, Christopher Conte started to create some unique pieces: a Carbon Fiber Spyder, an Articulated Singer Insect, a Bronze BioMechanical Full Skull, a Biomechanical Arm, a Solar Powered Microbotic Housefly, an External Video Eyeware Apparatus, etc...
