"Khan Shatyry" est un projet architectural qui vient d'être dévoilé par le président Kazakh, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Il est situé à Astana, la nouvelle capitale du Kazakhstan, qui a remplacé depuis une dizaine d'années l'ancienne capitale Almaty.
Ce projet a été dessiné par le fameux architecte anglais Norman Foster du cabinet "Foster and Partners".
Il consiste en une tente transparente géante qui abritera une ville intérieure!
Le dôme d'une hauteur de 150m sera construit en EFTE, un matériau très résistant qui permet d'absorber la lumière du soleil tout en protégeant l'intérieur des conditions climatiques extrêmes (Astana, située au coeur des steppes d'Asie Centrale, est soumise à des températures de -30°C durant l'hiver). L'idée est de recréer une atmosphère d'été...
Sous la tente, d'une surface équivalente à 10 terrains de football, on trouvera des espaces verts, un water parc tropical (plages, piscines, jeux aquatiques), un terrain de golf, des courts de tennis, un complexe commercial ainsi qu'un immense parking.
Même si le challenge d'élever cette tente géante est difficile, Fettah Tamince (Président de Sembol, la compagnie chargée de construire l'édifice) pense néanmoins terminer le chantier en 12 mois.
"Khan Shatyry" is a new architectural project unveiled recently by Kazakh President, Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is located in Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan (ten years ago, President Nazarbayev decided to move from Almaty to the heart of Kazakhstan).
The project is designed by the famous UK architect Norman Foster from "Foster and Partners" and consists in building a giant transparent tent that will contain an indoor city!
The 150m high dome will be made with a very resistant material called EFTE, that absorbs sunlight to create summer conditions inside(winter in the heart of the Central Asian Steppe is very cold and temperatures often drop to -30°C).
Underneath the tent, in an area larger than ten football fields, will be a city with green oases, a tropical water park(pools, beaches, waterfalls), a golf course, tennis courts and a retail space with a wide range of cafes, restaurants and cinemas and ample car park facilities.
Even though it is an extremely difficult project, Fettah Tamince (President of Sembol, the company that is building the tent), is nevertheless confident that they will complete the construction in just 12 months.
