Harbin Ice and Snow Festival - Festival Neige et Glace de Harbin

Harbin, surnommée dans les années 1930 le "Paris de l'Orient" et capitale de l'ancienne Mandchourie (nord-est), est l'une des villes les plus froides de Chine.

Chaque année a lieu le "Harbin Ice and Snow Big World" (festival de sculpture de glace et de neige) où sont exposés pendant un mois des blocs de glace transformés notamment en palais chinois, églises russes et cathédrales françaises, qui s'illuminent la nuit venue.

Harbin, capital of the Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China and ranked as the tenth largest city in China, is also known as "Ice City" for its long and cold winter.

The annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival has been held since 1985.

"Ice and Snow World" features illuminated full size buildings made from blocks of ice.

Bent Objects Wire Sculpture

Après des études et plusieurs années de travail dans le domaine de la photographie, Terry Border, basé à Greenwood, Indiana, a commencé à créer de petites sculptures en fil de fer.

Puis Terry Border s'est lançé dans la fabrication de mobiles et a ensuite créé de petits personnages (réalisés avec divers objets et aliments ainsi que des fils de fer) et les a mis en scène de façon amusante...




After studying and working several years in commercial photography, Terry Border, based in Greenwood, Indiana, started working in wire sculpture as a hobby.

Then, Terry Border made some mobiles for local galleries.

Terry Border uses wire, household objects and even food to create funny little sculptures.

Superelectronic is an online interactive artwork by the talented artist collective Aoineko, specialized in audiovisual aesthetics.

According to Aoineko, Superelectronic represents the cycle of emotions and inspiration.

The title Superelectronic is "a reference to the nature of life being electricity, and man attempting to replicate his own creation through electrical devices".

Superelectronic won an honorary mention in canon's 2002 CDCC (Canon Digital Creators Contest).

Obscene Interiors - Interieurs Obscenes

Brandt Botes (Von Brandis) est un artiste Sud Africain basé à Cape Town.

"Obscene Interiors" est le titre d'une série de photos postées sur Flickr.

Brandt Botes a collecté des images pornographiques sur le web et a effacé les acteurs afin de mettre en évidence les décors assez kitsch de ces scènes pornos.

Selon lui, la combinaison de ces intérieurs vintage et de la pornographie invisible créé l'intrigue...




Brandt Botes, aka Von Brandis, is a South African artist based in Cape Town.

In his latest Flickr set titled "Obscene Interiors", Brandt Botes used some old pornographic pictures found on the web and he removed the actors in order to enhance the kitsch decor.

According to Von Brandis, the combination of vintage interiors and invisible pornography creates intrigue...
