The Fridges: Cuban Refrigerators Artworks

"Fast Food" - Luis Enrique Camejo

The exhibition "Energy Devouring Monsters" which involves 50 Cuban artists is on display at Le Grand Palais in Paris from July 17th to August 5th.

The exhibition consists of old refrigerators turned into artworks by world renowned painters, sculptors and engravers including Kcho, Roberto Fabelo, Flora Fong, Rene Peña, Roberto Diago, Luis Enrique Camejo, Abel Barroso...

Curator Mario Gonzalez came up with this idea one day when he and painter Roberto Fabelo started to dab paint on the door of an old 1950's refrigerator.

Other artists joined in the initiative of recycling household electric products that had been discontinued because of the Energy Revolution's anti waste offensive.
