Le très sérieux magazine anglais The Economist a publié un article sur les variations du prix du gramme de cocaine suivant les pays.
On constate une grande disparité suivant la localisation du pays (distance par rapport au pays producteur), suivant la législation et aussi suivant la concurrence de l'offre locale.
Sans surprise, la Colombie (le plus gros producteur de coca) détient le record du gramme le moins cher ($2) alors que la lointaine Nouvelle Zelande affiche un prix record de $714.
The very serious English magazine The Economist published an article concerning the variation of cocaine street price according to countries.
The street price of cocaine varies hugely across the world according threee factors: geography (The farther away a country from the main producers in South and Central America, and the more isolated it is, the higher the cost to traffick there), legislation and competition among suppliers.
No surprise that it is cheapest in Colombia ($2), the world's biggest producer of coca, (a gram costs less than a Big Mac!!) and the most expensive in far-flung New Zealand ($714).
